Entry Level Designer, Architecture/Engineering

Job Summary:
  • We are looking for a qualified Structural E.I.T. to work under the direction of a Lead, Licensed Structural Engineers. This position is a path to becoming a licensed Structural Engineer. As a Structural Engineer, E.I.T., you will work in our office and remotely with engineering teams of Architects, Civil and ME/EE-Engineers to design technical solutions to meet our client’s business needs. The successful candidate will be able to work with other designers and licensed engineers and learn to create and assemble a complete set of structural design documents. Will be trained and become knowledgeable in seismic force resisting systems in high seismic design categories, gravity and lateral load path calculations and analysis of structural systems used in manufacturing, distribution, and other industrial and commercial facilities.

Responsibilities:
  • Assist with field conditional assessments
  • Assist in design of structural systems for new and existing industrial facility applications
  • Work on gravity and lateral load path calculations and analysis
  • Work on the design team using analysis software and AutoCAD
  • Work construction documents using AutoCAD and Revit
  • Develop specifications, interface with on-site and remote cross functional project teams
  • Stay up to date and current of all changes in codes and industry standards both at state and national levels
  • Work on Structural Design Concept documents for projects

Requirements:
  • 1+ years as E.I.T. in industrial structural design and engineering
  • Recent grads with appropriate structural Co-ops/Internships of 2+ yrs. will be considered.
  • Experience with 3D structure analysis software; RISA 3D, SAFE, etc.
  • Knowledge of heavy equipment support structure and foundation design
  • Knowledge of seismic force resisting systems in high seismic design categories
  • Knowledge of gravity and lateral system strengthening of all construction materials
  • Any experience in the structural design of facilities for food/beverage, Pharma/life science or consumer products manufacturing and distribution is highly desired
  • Excellent communication skills, interpersonal skills and ability to interact with our valued team members and clients
  • Excellent computer skills including AutoCAD, Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word
  • Proficient in Revit is highly desired
  • Willing and able to travel as necessary for project requirements to include but not be limited to: project installation and start-up activities, client meetings, company sponsored meetings, trainings, industry related seminars, forums, or conventions, etc.

Education:
  • BS Civil Engineering from an ABET school required; MS degree in Structural Engineering preferred 

Licenses:
  • F.E. exam and registered as an E.I.T.
