Staff Civil Engineer – Coeur d’Alene, Idaho
 
Maul Foster & Alongi, Inc. (MFA) is seeking a full-time entry-level Staff Civil Engineer to work in our Coeur d’Alene, Idaho office. The ideal candidate will have a general interest in site development design, land use development, brownfield redevelopment, and water resources including stormwater system design. As Staff Civil Engineer, you will be involved in all aspects of project execution, including design, permitting, specifications, quantity calculations, oversight, report and proposal writing, and cost estimating.
 
As a Staff Civil Engineer, you will…
  • Prepare engineering designs and specifications in collaboration with a licensed engineer
  • Assist with project planning, cost estimating, permitting, and reporting
  • Support project bidding/contract solicitation
  • Assist with construction management and on-site construction oversight including quality control, quantity calculations and review of payment applications
  • Assist in development and implementation of proposals, scopes, schedules, and budgets for project work
  • Incorporate detailed quality control review by others into your work
  • Assist in client and regulatory agency discussions and negotiations
  • Work independently and solicit input from mentors.
 
What you need to thrive…
  • Bachelor's in civil engineering or a related field from an ABET-accredited institution
  • Engineer-In-Training certification
  • Interest in working in the consulting environment
  • Sound technical capabilities and organizational and problem-solving skills
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Aptitude for using AutoCAD design software, specifically Civil 3D
  • Ability to drive and willingness to travel occasionally to regional projects
  • Ability to perform physical duties including, but not limited to, lifting, use of respiratory equipment and other protective gear, and traversing rough terrain.
  • Interest in site development including grading and utilities design and construction management
  • Ability to effectively work as a team member, both individually and collaboratively, delivering a project successfully to a client within the scope, schedule, budget
  • Interest in playing a role in improving communities in the Pacific Northwest
  • Interest in infrastructure design
