System Integration Outage Management Engineer

We currently have openings for OMS Engineers within our Adherant Consulting client services department. In this position you will support the implementation of the OSI monarch system. Work includes developing client requirements, system configuration, integration design support, business process design, testing, requirements verification, data mapping, change management guidance and OMS training. Experience with electric utility operations and SCADA systems is preferred.

As a System Integration Consulting OMS Engineer you will have the following responsibilities:
  • Assist client OMS team with OMS centric engineering duties through the life cycle of a project, including support of business process issues and configuration.
  • Provide OMS expertise and guidance on emergent and non-emergent processes during the planning, design, development, testing, and deployment phases.
  • Coordinate closely with the client on operational needs associated with
  • OMS requirements.
  • OMS integration design.
  • Test case creation.
  • Ensure OMS requirements and expectations are clear.
  • Ensure the OMS engineered system is installed and tested per OMS engineering documents.
  • OMS configuration design and implementation.
  • Provide root cause analysis and problem-solving logic on issues encountered in the implementation.
  • Ensure that OMS systems have been installed/configured/integrated per Client requirements and tested.
  • Develop conceptual designs for OMS configuration control equipment that comply with contract and interconnection requirements.
  • Maintain project and OMS documentation.
  • Maintain and support the OMS monarch system during the project.
  • Interface with client system operators, operations and maintenance personnel to ensure OMS system is designed and implemented in accordance with contractual requirements and industry best practices.
  • Deploy OMS system according to timelines and budget.
  • Be an advocate for the customer with the wider OSI team, understanding the customers need and seeking solutions with other OSI departments to meet them.
  • Seek to identify and continuously improve Adherent processes and delivery toolsets.
  • Applicant is expected to travel to customer sites and work onsite Monday through Thursday.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical or computer engineering (or equivalent experience).
  • 1+ years of experience with OSI monarch product preferred.
  • 1+ years of experience with OMS systems.
  • 1+ years of experience testing OMS systems.
Or
  • 3+ years of progressive electric utility engineering or operations experience.
  • 3+ years of experience with electric utility OT systems or modeling software.
  • Familiarity with common OMS concepts.
  • Ability to travel up to 75%, mainly domestic.
  • Superior interpersonal and communication skills.
