System Integration Electric Distribution Engineer

OSI is headquartered in Medina, Minnesota, USA and is seeking to hire Electric Power Systems Distribution Engineers with background in Distribution Grid Modeling, Distribution Planning, and DMS functionality. Qualified candidates can work remotely or relocate to other OSI offices in the United States including Medina, MN; Houston, TX; or Melbourne, FL.

In this position, you will design and deliver OSI's control systems and provide ongoing customer support to ensure reliable system performance and world-class customer satisfaction. Specific, on-the-job or formalized OSI monarch training will be provided. In this position, you will have the following responsibilities:
  • Design, plan, integrate, test and commission Advanced Distribution Management Systems (ADMS) and Outage Management Systems (OMS) for utility clients. Including:
  • Development and implementation of ADMS hardware and software requirements.
  • Business Process Design.
  • Project Schedule development.
  • System interface design and development (internal and external).
  • GIS interface design and implementation.
  • Distribution model conversion/development.
  • Configuration of all required monarch software modules.
  • Development of user stories and test cases.
  • Support system quality assurance testing of fully integrated solution (hardware and software).
  • System commissioning planning and support.

Requirements

  • Bachelors of Science in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related technical field.
  • 2-4+ years of work experience at an electric utility company in distribution planning or operations.
  • Knowledge of electric utility operation, control and optimization is required.
  • Knowledge of distribution systems, GIS, protection, and smart grid technologies.
  • Familiarity with common DMS concepts.
  • Excellent organization, interpersonal and leadership skills.
  • Strong commitment to providing superior customer service.
  • Ability to work on several projects in parallel in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Ability and flexibility to travel to domestic and international customer sites.
