This is a salaried position. Most of the duties can be performed remotely, but this position does require visits to the office a few times a week to process the accounting mail, deposit and issue checks, as well as other in-person tasks critical to company operations.

Ideal Qualifications:

Training and Skills
  • BS or BA in Accounting or Finance, plus 3-5 years of work experience including account reconciliation
  • Experience using accounting software (preferably Axium Ajera, but Deltek FMS or Vision acceptable)
  • Experience using payroll software (preferably ADP’s Workforce Now)
  • Excellent proficiency with MS Excel
  • Accurate and rapid keyboarding skills

Competencies
  • Eagle eye for detail (with numbers and words)
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and service orientation
  • Drive to follow guidelines and procedures thoroughly and consistently
  • Flexibility, adaptability, positive energy, and can-do attitude
  • Ability to remain productive and service-oriented in spite of interruptions throughout the day
  • Ability to work independently, take initiative, prioritize own work, and update status of assigned tasks frequently

Any of the following would be a great plus!
  • A broad understanding of business and how the inputs and outputs of accounting are interconnected
  • General knowledge of GAAP
  • Advanced spreadsheet skills
  • Interest in and awareness of the natural world and science

A valid clean California driver’s license is required for this position.
