Oil & Gas Software Applications Engineer (Houston)

We currently have openings for an Oil and Gas Software Applications Engineer in our Houston, TX office. In this position you will lead creation of state-of-the-art software products that comprise sophisticated SCADA control systems, gas operations applications and support services. All of this is done using the latest technologies in a fast-pace, collaborative environment at a forward looking company. Specific on-the-job training will be provided. As an Oil and Gas Software Applications Engineer, your responsibilities will include:
  • Manage software development projects and personnel to create new products and maintain existing applications.
  • Perform oil and gas advanced application and SCADA implementation as part of project deliverables
  • Be an important part of a project team, reporting to the project manager and make sure milestones are respected
  • Identify and deploy software development initiatives as part of contract deliverables and work closely with product management teams to successfully deliver
  • Work with stakeholders and product and project managers to ensure products being developed comply with technical specifications and project schedules and yield a highly competitive end-product.

 

Requirements

Minimum
  • Bachelor's or master’s degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related technical field
  • Min 15 -20 years of experience in the Oil & Gas / Gas SCADA Industries, and Application Implementation in the Midstream Market
  • Strong time/project management and organization skills
  • Ability to remain flexible and effective under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred
  • Gas Utility Industry experience developing Control System Technology Software.
