Leadership Training Program - Manager Plus One

The Manager Plus One role is part of a renowned leadership training program empowering those with an interest in clinical engineering management the opportunity to learn and develop key skills to ultimately become a Clinical Engineering Manager.
Our training program focuses on:

  • Clinical engineering principles to ultimately provide superior customer service and operational efficiency
  • Learning to lead daily operations, along with collaborating and maintaining positive relationships with customers
  • Developing key skills to lead and develop a team of clinical engineers and technicians
  • Providing a communication channel between hospital executives and the TRIMEDX leadership and support teams
  • Experiencing Joint Commission inspections and TRIMEDX compliance with regulatory standards.

The desired outcome of the learning program is for participants to graduate from the training program within 6-12 months and secure a Manager position at a TRIMEDX location at one of our sites throughout the U.S. As part of the program, geographical relocation may be required and is encouraged to gain a better understanding of the organizational operations. Relocation assistance would likely be provided if needed in accordance with IRS standards.

The training curriculum includes elements of the below:

Leadership:

  • Apply knowledge and experience of technology and/or equipment to oversee site operations and provide direction to others
  • Coach and mentor technicians by providing feedback on performance and documentation habits
  • Develop others to continuously achieve long and short term business results

Operational Management

  • Manage Service Operations functions, such as service contracts and resources. Document the demand labor, demand parts, labor, contracts, labor, and parts
  • Answer questions and meet with others to discern the root cause of technological/process problems
  • Manage inventory of shop supplies
  • Develop service strategies with an outlook of continuous process improvement and provide metrics to TRIMEDX Central Office

Account Management & Development

  • Build and maintain relationships with customers by employing interpersonal and conflict management skills
  • Effectively collaborate with customers and vendors to develop win-win solutions
  • Monitor each modality after setting financial and performance benchmarks
  • Identify and pursue opportunities for business entry
  • Manage financial performance

Functional/Technical Service
Will shadow technicians and learn the following areas:

  • Perform scheduled maintenance, electrical safety inspections (ESI), and operation verification procedures (OVP) on medical devices
  • Install and calibrate medical devices
  • Perform troubleshooting, service, and repairs of medical equipment
  • Advise users of equipment status and ensure all service and documentation is complete, timely, and accurate
  • Complete Incoming Inspections (II) to maintain a complete and accurate inventory of medical devices

Education and Work Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, technological or business field required, or Associate’s degree in engineering or technological discipline, in conjunction with 5 successful years of experience in clinical engineering field.
  • Technical certification such as A+, CBET, CRES, CLES, or CCE a plus
  • Must be willing to travel up to 50% of the time
  • Must be willing to relocate

Knowledge

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications required
  • Ability to manage day-to-day and long term site operations
  • Ability to lead, motivate, and develop others
  • Ability to perform basic financial analysis and calculate budgets, revenue, and costs
  • Strong written, verbal, and presentational communication skills
