Information Technology System Administrator

We currently have openings for an Information Technology System Administrator. In this position you will be responsible for administering OSI’s information systems by maintaining corporate network and computer systems. The IT System Administrator installs and maintains servers, and the application software that runs on them. The IT System Administrator supports, plans, and implements information systems and corporate information system security. Specific on-the-job training will be provided. As Information Technology System Administrator your responsibilities will include:
- Administer servers by maintaining Operating System, application systems, performing upgrades, monitor and ensure an adequate level of performance and ensuring the security of the system.
- Administer Microsoft 365 and Microsoft Azure environments for corporate use. This includes telephony, email, SharePoint, Intune and Microsoft Defender.
- Support, develop and implement policies for appropriate and effective use of OSI information systems.
- Produce periodic reports of system performance and capacity.
- Manage access to and security of OSI intellectual property and business intelligence by controlling information access, performing vulnerability assessments and remediation as necessary.
- Evaluate and recommend software systems required to meet current and future corporate technology needs.
- Maintain knowledge of current hardware and software products, and emerging technologies.
- Create and implement upgrade and rollback plans while following change management to ensure safety and reliability of information systems.
- Maintain system failure and disaster recovery plans.
- Assist employees with effective use of hardware and software products. Recommend or provide training as appropriate.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Two-year degree in Information Systems, Computer Technology or a related field is required. BS/BA preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years experience in Information Systems or related field. Experience in technology organizations preferred.
- Microsoft Certification and/or Cisco Certification may be required based on the level of experience and education.
- Broad knowledge base of computer technology including experience with Microsoft operating systems, network and security administration.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Strong problem solving and analytical skills.
- Ability to multi-task and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Ability to establish and maintain working relationships with internal and external customers.
- Team oriented.
- Ability and flexibility to travel with short notice to other OSI sites or vendor sites.
