Renewable Energy Analyst

Madison Energy Investments is a renewable energy company that develops, owns and operates solar, battery and electric vehicle infrastructure in North America. Founded in 2019, Madison is a backed by private equity to further the mission of climate change and electrification of the United States economy. As of December 2021, Madison has over $400MM in renewable energy investments with offices are in New York City, NY and Tysons Corner, VA.
 
The Analyst will report directly to the Directors of Business Development, Finance and Asset Management with exposure to the entire team. The Analyst will assist the team in all aspects of the business. Responsibilities will include a cross functional view into the lifecycle of renewable energy, including: performance, new markets and technologies, financial and commercial analysis, marketing and information technology.
 
Summary of activities:
 
  • Work with cross-functional team members to learn about all elements of a Solar project including business development, operations and financing
  • Primary and secondary research into new technology, markets and business models (i.e. mobility connecting to distributed energy resources)
  • Interface with external partners w/r/t research including our investment partners, origination partners and customers.
  • Support business development team with all aspects of business (chip in when and where is needed)
  • Manage and respond to diligence requests related to financial transactions
  • Immersing oneself in the industry and have a passion for learning about energy  
 
Required Experience:
 
  • Significant thirst for knowledge and obvious desire to work in the clean energy industry
  • Experience in clean energy, private equity and project finance is helpful, but not required
  • High level of proficiency using PowerPoint and Excel  
  • Organized, diligent, and able to track and manage multiple streams of information on an ongoing basis
  • Ability to work collaboratively with teammates across functions.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform with a high degree of resourcefulness.
  • Bachelor’s Degree required
