Position Title: Nutritional and Molecular Epidemiology Postdoctoral Fellowship
Position Description: Erikka Loftfield, Ph.D., M.P.H., an Earl Stadtman tenure-track investigator in the DCEG Metabolic Epidemiology Branch, is seeking a postdoctoral fellow who is interested in studying diet-related risk factors for cancer using an integrated ‘-omics’ approach that leverages novel analytic methods to incorporate genetic, metabolomic, and microbiome data with self-reported dietary assessments. Dr. Loftfield is leading etiologic studies of colorectal and liver cancer as well as dietary biomarker discovery studies that aim to advance current understanding of the mechanisms underlying diet-cancer associations. Specific projects can be tailored to the individual’s research interests. Potential projects include:
· Cohort and consortia analyses of diet and cancer
· Dietary biomarker discovery in the iDATA Study
· GWAS of diet-related risk factors and metabolites
· Studies of ultra-processed diet and cancer risk
Qualifications
Candidates should possess a doctoral degree in epidemiology, nutritional epidemiology, nutrition, or a related field. In addition to strong quantitative and writing skills, familiarity with the applications R, SAS, or other statistical programming software to dietary, metabolomics, and health data is preferred.
