Publications Specialist

RTI International is seeking a full-time Publications Specialist to support the Multimedia Communications department. The successful candidate will provide formatting services in MS Office products (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) and Adobe Acrobat to produce presentations, journal articles, proposals, newsletters, reports, and other documents. The candidate will also perform remediation of documents for Section 508 compliance. The work will be done in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment and can be performed remotely or in RTI’s Research Triangle Park, NC, office (currently closed because of COVID-19). The candidate must quickly learn and apply new technologies and be committed to quality and collaboration. 

Duties
•   Use various publications software (e.g., Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Adobe Acrobat) to create professional-quality documents and publications
•   Format documents to client specifications using appropriate techniques (e.g., stylesheets and templates); present information in a visually pleasing and understandable manner
•   Create high-quality graphs and charts in Excel and PowerPoint, and insert these graphics into other Microsoft programs, such as Word
•   Troubleshoot formatting issues and handle templates, tables, styles, and layouts
•   Communicate with internal clients, discuss document requirements, answer questions, and inform clients of job status
•   Format source files (Word, Excel, PPT) to be 508 compliant
•   Perform activities (tagging, quality checks) for 508 compliance of PDF and HTML files
 
Qualifications
•   High school diploma and 3 years’ experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience
•   Competency in MS Office Suite, with the ability to use templates and styles
•   Experience with Adobe Acrobat
•   Familiarity with Section 508 compliance requirements is a plus but not required
•   To qualify, applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States and should not require now, or in the future, sponsorship for employment visa status.

The anticipated pay range for this role is listed below. Our pay ranges represent national averages and may vary by location as a geographic differential may be applied to some locations within the United States.
