Consultant

JSI Research & Training Institute, Inc. (JSI), a leading public health research and consulting organization, is seeking a highly motivated individual with program management experience for a Consultant role in our Boston, MA office. The candidate will oversee the Massachusetts Department of Public Health’s COVID-19 Mobile Vaccination Program. This position is responsible for many duties including evaluating and coordinating mobile vaccination requests; data collection, analysis, and reporting; providing technical assistance and quality improvement coaching; and program evaluation. The ideal candidate will be an organized and energetic self-starter who can work both independently and as part of a team. 
 
A successful JSI Consultant is a creative problem solver, able to quickly pivot in changing environments, and committed to advancing racially equitable approaches to improving health systems. The consultant role is varied and diverse, and may require the individual to grow their skills and knowledge in project coordination/management, development of project deliverables, facilitation, qualitative and quantitative data collection and analysis, and business development. 
 
While this position will begin with supporting the COVID-19 Mobile Vaccination Program at MDPH, upon the end of the project, the consultant will contribute to projects across JSI’s portfolio in technical assistance and training, strategic planning, research, program evaluation, and/or health communications.  

The salary for this position is $68,000-85,000/year depending on education and years of experience.

Responsibilities: 

  • Evaluate mobile vaccination clinic requests and match clinic requests with a mobile vaccination vendor
  • Ensure timely and accurate vendor documentation of vaccination clinics and follow-up with vendors as needed
  • Collect and analyze data on vaccination clinics in a centralized database. Adhere to all data reporting deadlines and respond promptly to ad hoc data requests
  • Acts as liaison with local and state public health and government authorities and stakeholders to ensure efficient and effective clinic coordination
  • Evaluate post-clinic customer service surveys and follow up with clinics and/or vendors as needed
  • Facilitate monthly and as needed conference calls with vendors
  • On-board and orient new vaccination vendors to the program as needed 
  • Attend regularly scheduled and urgent meetings as requested
  • Completes other duties as assigned
  • Work on other JSI projects as needed and as time allows
 
Qualifications:

  • Masters degree in related field with at least one year of U.S.-based public health experience following completion of advanced degree, or at least 7 years of relevant professional experience
  • Commitment to advancing health and racial equity
  • Demonstrated skills in project coordination/ management including establishing project work plans, processes, and protocols; managing timelines; supporting cross-functional teams; and developing internal relationships through effective communication 
  • Strong written and oral communication skills with a service mentality. Experience working collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team in a high pressure environment.  
  • Highly organized and attentive to detail. Comfortable independently managing multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Demonstrated ability to exercise sound professional judgement. Maintain confidentiality and discretion with sensitive information
  • Comfortable with ambiguity and confidence to request clarity when necessary
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office, Google Desktop and other office software

Preferred:

  • Knowledge of COVID-19 vaccine distribution, administration, storage & handling, and billing  
  • Experience working with the Massachusetts Department of Public Health or other government agencies
  • Experience with Salesforce
