Entertainment Market Research Analyst/Sr. Analyst

The Opportunity
We are seeking a Research Analyst or Senior Analyst to join our rapidly growing Content & Strategy team. In this role, you will bring your intellectual curiosity, entrepreneurial mindset, and storytelling ability to support research initiatives that help answer important strategic questions around content and marketing from the biggest movie studios, TV networks and streaming platforms.

The Role 
  • Collaborate on entertainment market research studies including but not limited to: concept evaluation, brand studies, content optimization tests (movies and series), messaging/positioning evaluation, creative material tests, market sizing and segmentation, and trackers. Many studies are a combination of quantitative and qualitative.
  • Support on all steps of a project including but not limited to: research design, questionnaire and discussion guide development, data analysis, report writing and presentation.
  • Translate research data into clear, actionable insights and recommendations through visual, creative and story-driven reports, ensuring the consistent delivery of high quality deliverables.
  • Stay abreast of entertainment, pop culture, research and media trends.

Ideal Candidate
  • 1-3 years’ experience working in consumer research (ideally with an entertainment focus).
  • BA/BS with a strong academic record, and with a degree in a business or social science field, or one with an emphasis on statistics or quantitative research methodologies.
  • Experience of qualitative techniques and approaches across audiences (e.g. kids) and platforms (online and in-person).
  • Some experience with the following data analysis techniques: statistical significance testing, correlations analysis, multivariate analysis techniques (such as cluster/segmentation analysis) and conjoint and discrete choice analysis. Ability to apply techniques a plus, but not required.
  • Strong interest in entertainment.
  • Excellent PowerPoint, Excel, written and visual communication skills. Ideally, experience with other platforms such as Google Docs, Slides, Keynote, etc.
  • Excellent oral communication skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to work harmoniously and effectively within a team and across teams.

Position Type 
This is a full-time, exempt position.

Work Environment
NRG provides flexible work options – employees will be given the choice to work remotely, work out of a designated office (Playa Vista, New York, or London) or a hybrid of the two. This role routinely uses standard office equipment.
