Senior Systems Engineer - Nulka Decoy Launching System

Job Summary

As the Nulka Systems Engineer you will have the opportunity to be part of a dynamic and cohesive team supporting the Electronic Warfare and Spectrum Operations (EWSO) B30 Division with Nulka MK 53 Decoy Launching System (DLS) software Integration, Test and Evolution evolutions for legacy software and future advanced development software configurations.

In this role you will:
  • Perform System Engineering of Nulka legacy and future development evolutions by execution of Requirements Management and Test Engineering functions.
  • Participate in development and definition of system/software configuration item requirements products.
  • Review and provide input to the development of system safety products from a system engineering perspective.
  • Perform requirements tracing and mapping between requirements and testing document artifacts.
  • Perform testing of embedded software developmental and prototyping products and configuration items.
  • Aid developers in identification of software deficiencies, integration issues and interoperability assessments.
  • Execute testing of tactical code utilizing testbed equipment including scenario generation and data collection/analysis to verify system and subsystem level requirements. 
  • Review software performance against requirements for adequacy and accuracy of software development implementation. 
  • Aid in development of Software Requirements Specifications (SRS) and Interface Requirements Specifications (IRS) and other software related requirements.
  • Attend and participate in Local Change Configuration Board (LCCB) committee meetings as a testing representative.  
  • Be responsible for development of test approaches, develop test cases, and develop of test plans and procedures.

This position will support onsite at NSWCDD 50-75% of the time.

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelors or higher degree from an accredited university in computer science, electrical engineering, engineering, systems engineering, mathematics or physical science.
  • 10 years of job-related experience, or equivalent, in engineering/systems engineering applied to Navy/Joint warfighting systems.
  • Experience must include five (5) years of professional experience in research, development, test and evaluation.
  • Active Secret security clearance.
  • Demonstrated tactical system testing experience with real-time computing systems.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Working knowledge of C++ in a Linux environment
  • Demonstrated experience evaluating system safety requirements and processes
