Financial Accountant

This position is located at our Headquarter building in Itasca, IL.

Requirements
  • Bachelor degree in Accounting (Accounting principles, terminology, and budgeting principles)
  • Three to five years general accounting work experience
  • Experience using MS Office products (Excel, Word, and Outlook) with moderate or higher knowledge of Excel preferred ·
  • Experience and working knowledge of SAP or similar Accounting system
  • In depth knowledge of accounting / GAAP
  • Financial management principles and theories ·
  • Mathematical principles to accounting, bookkeeping, and budgeting as well as to identify, analyze, and solve problems ·
  • Conduct investigations and research revenues, expenditures as well as in comparison to budgets ·
  • Self-motivated, organized and ability to work as part of a team ·
  • Strong verbal communication skills and ability to communicate effectively as well as tactfully ·
  • Must be dependable, able to prioritize tasks, and be flexible with changes in job duties ·
  • Willingness to take on new tasks and duties as assigned ·
  • Effective process analyzer with an approach towards efficiency
  • Can organize tasks and routines efficiently
  • Meet all deadlines and understand the utmost importance of meeting due dates
 
Duties and Responsibilities
  • Review Invoice entries in Invoice hub for account coding, cost centers and business areas
  • Review other invoices from parent and affiliate and prepare Batch input entries
  • Support Accounts Payable group when necessary to accommodate all invoices and expense reports
  • Review financial statements for accuracy and legal compliance
  • Prepare and file tax returns (Sales/Use Tax, property tax, estimated tax)
  • Enter accounting transactions in Accounting system (GL Entries)
  • Inspect account books for efficiency and accuracy
  • Prepare subsidiary ledgers
  • Organize and update financial records
  • Perform monthly bank settlements
  • Prepare documentation for external auditors
  • Assist during audit (Quarterly, Preliminary and Fiscal Year)
  • Assist in Tax Audits (Sales and Use Tax, Property Tax and Business taxes)
  • Conduct compliance inquiries and research
  • File and pay business licenses
  • Analyze Managerial Reports and present to Sales Directors and Managers
  • Recommend ways to reduce costs and enhance revenue (Goals)
  • Respond to inquiries and requests through Department’s queue
