Engineering Geologist (JC-284519)

The California Regional Water Quality Control Board, Lahontan Region, South Lake Tahoe office has an opening for an Engineering Geologist in the Cleanup/Site Investigation and Enforcement Unit. The position location is 2501 Lake Tahoe Boulevard, South Lake Tahoe, CA 96150.

Duties:
Under direction of a Senior Engineering Geologist, consistent with good customer service practices and the goals of the State and Regional Board's Strategic Plan, the incumbent is expected to be courteous and to provide timely responses to internal/external customers, to follow through on commitments, and to solicit and consider internal/external customer input when completing work assignments. Incumbent serves as an Engineering Geologist in the Cleanup/Site Investigation and Enforcement Unit. This position implements work in the Underground Storage Tank, Site Cleanup, Department of Defense, Land Disposal, and other regulatory/enforcement programs. Routine tasks include providing information to customers, drafting permits, reviewing and commenting on technical reports and work plans, preparing technical reports and enforcement documents/orders, inspecting sites (for planning and compliance, etc.), meeting/coordinating with other public agencies (federal, state, and local) and stakeholders, data management and analysis, conducting hydrologic/hydrogeologic analyses regarding water quality impacts, conducting investigations into spills and environmental complaints from the public or other public agencies, and program management.
