The HIV Vaccine Trials Network (HVTN) is the world’s largest publicly funded multi-disciplinary international collaboration facilitating the development of vaccines to prevent HIV/AIDS, through clinical research studies. Most recently, the COVID-19 Prevention Network (CoVPN) was formed by the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID) at the US National Institutes of Health to respond to the global pandemic. Using the infectious disease expertise of their existing research networks and global partners, NIAID has directed the HVTN to utilize their experience and expertise to address the pressing need for vaccines and antibodies against the SARS-CoV-2 virus. The mission of CoVPN is to conduct Phase 3 efficacy trials of vaccines and antibodies to prevent infection and COVID-19 disease, to ensure rapid and thorough evaluation that can support approval and dissemination of the interventions.  
 
We are seeking a Clinical Data Operations Project Coordinator to manage activities in support of network, protocol-specific and/or departmental projects for the CoVPN and HVTN Statistical Data Management Center (SDMC.) They are responsible for managing assigned work within project timelines. They develop and maintain successful working relationships with team members, peers, and relevant stakeholders


Responsibilities

  • Work with project sponsor, stakeholders, and protocol team members to define project requirements, scope, organization, and approach
  • Coordinate study and administrative activities, working with the project manager and assistant director to ensure activities are completed according to given timelines
  • Participate in the development, review, editing, and revision of study and network documents and materials in support of network and/or protocol specific projects
  • Attend assigned protocol and network meetings and conference calls, including early morning calls
  • Assist with tracking study and/or network milestones and timelines
  • Actively facilitate communications among stakeholders for deliverables
  • Independently complete data review, analysis, and reporting for ongoing SDMC and network projects, including developing and maintaining documentation
  • Perform other responsibilities as required


Qualifications

  • BA/BS in a related field of study
  • Minimum of three years of work experience in related field, additional experience can substitute for educational requirement.
  • Demonstrates flexibility and positive attitude
  • Must be detail oriented
  • Excellent planning, tracking, and organization skills
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Strong computer skills are essential, including proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint). Advanced Excel skills required or demonstrated ability to acquire.
  • Clinical trials, data management, or medical research experience a plus and/or good understanding of clinical research operations, data management, and data analytics.
  • Must have demonstrated ability to work independently and take initiative in a dynamic environment.
