Accountant
Myriad Genetics, Inc. (NSYE: MYGN) is looking for an Accountant to join our Corporate Accounting team. This position will be responsible for preparing and recording journal entries and supporting month end close procedures and will report directly to the Senior Accountant. We are looking for a good communicator who is detail oriented to work closely with the accounting team and others throughout Myriad and someone with proven strategic thinking ability who can shift between competing priorities seamlessly. You will assist with preparing monthly journal entries, reconciling balance sheet accounts, maintaining accounting schedules and records and performing financial analysis. The right person for this position will contribute towards timely and accurate financial reporting within the global close process.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and record asset, liability and expense entries by compiling and analyzing account information
- Prepare balance sheet account reconciliations and ensure that balances are accurately stated in accordance with GAAP, statutory and company policies
- Perform financial analysis to identify and resolve differences
- Maintain accounting schedules and reports including fixed asset, inventory, costing and month end adjusting entries and accruals
- Ad-hoc tasks, projects and reporting as required.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or 2+ years of experience
- Microsoft Office experience (specifically Excel, Word and Outlook)
- Experience with Oracle and APRO a plus
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Must have superior professional office demeanor and good organizational skills to maintain financial records, correspondence etc.
- Ability to learn computer programs quickly.
- Follows established policies and procedures to complete assignments with a high level of accuracy.
Physical & Lifting Requirements
- Lifting Requirements – light work or exerting up to 20 pounds of force frequently.
- Physical Requirements – stationary positioning, moving, operating, ascending/descending, communicating and observing.
- Use of equipment and tools necessary to perform essential job functions.
