Entry-level Financial Analyst / Pricing Analyst

RTI’s Office of Finance is seeking an entry-level Financial Analyst / Pricing Analyst to support the Social, Statistical, & Environmental Sciences (SSES) Operations Finance group. The position will partner closely with a diverse team of strategic pricing analysts, proposal managers, contract negotiators, and research staff, to develop a winning pricing strategy in response to solicitations for contracts and grants. The primary role of this position will be competitive budget development and preparation of business proposals for Federal clients in addition to other domestic, international, and commercial organizations. The Financial Analyst / Pricing Analyst will report to a Pricing Manager in the Operations Finance group.
 
This role requires the ability to manage multiple projects with general supervision. The ideal candidate will be detail oriented, resourceful and take initiative to develop solutions to problems and have strong communication skills. This position provides a great opportunity to make a positive impact on the financial performance of the Institute.

This position can work fully remote as a telecommuter anywhere in the U.S. or can be located at RTI's offices in Research Triangle Park, NC or Waltham, MA.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: 
 
Collaborate as a financial business partner across the organization to successfully:
 
  • Lead creation of competitive budgets and business proposals while ensuring compliance with client requirements and internal RTI policies
  • Review documents, such as Request for Proposals (RFPs), and other associated materials, to determine requirements, identify issues which may require client clarification, assess financial, contractual, and business risk, to develop and apply risk mitigation strategies and communicate pertinent information to proposal teams
  • Solicit input as needed, including through strategy sessions and budget reviews, on appropriate budget approach to meet costing requirements, and obtain all necessary review and approvals 
  • Leverage financial tools to develop and communicate strong financial analysis to a variety of audiences 
  • Ensure timely submission of business proposals in a variety of presentation formats through coordination with proposal team and by adhering to proposal calendars and milestones 
  • Identify and understand issues, problems, and opportunities while providing proactive insights and guidance in easy-to-understand format
  • Apply critical thinking / problem solving skills and initiate ownership of challenging tasks
  • Stay organized and successfully manage multiple deliverables at any given time in a fast-paced environment by quickly assessing and prioritizing competing demands

 
Minimum Qualifications:
 
  • Bachelor’s degree with at least 1 year of related experience 
  • Related experience could include, but is not limited to, accounting, finance, financial analysis, project management, operations, supply chain, risk assessment, pricing, or government contracting
  • Strong communication, collaboration, and leadership skills 
  • Solid analytical skills, accuracy with work, and attention to detail
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel and other data analysis/visualization tools 
  • To qualify, applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States and should not require, now or in the future, sponsorship for employment visa status


Preferred Qualifications:
 
  • Prior pricing experience preferred, but not required
  • Knowledge of US Government contractors, the Federal Acquisition Regulations a plus

The anticipated pay range for this role is listed below. Our pay ranges represent national averages and may vary by location as a geographic differential may be applied to some locations within the United States.
 
RTI considers multiple factors when making an offer including, for example: established salary range, internal budget, business needs, and education and years of work experience possessed by the applicant. Further, salary is merely one element to our offer.
