Desktop Support Technician

Position Description
The Information Technology Department has an opening for a Desktop Support Technician. Responsibilities include second level troubleshooting of desktop applications, network connectivity and all computer hardware and peripheral devices. Maintenance and use technical expertise and tools to investigate, troubleshoot and resolve service requests in a timely manner will be required. Must be familiar with installing and troubleshooting Windows 10 operating systems. Must have excellent customer service skills and the ability to work well as an individual and in a team environment, following documented policies and procedures. Will also handle walk-in customer issues and request one-on-one. Must be a fast learner and highly reliable.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Responsibilities include second level troubleshooting of desktop applications, network connectivity and all computer hardware and peripheral devices.
  • Will maintain and use technical expertise and tools to investigate, troubleshoot and resolve service requests in a timely manner.
Position Requirements
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Technical Training
  • Minimum one (1) year of experience supporting hardware and/or software in a Windows 10 environment
  • Advanced working knowledge of Windows 10 operating system
  • Experience with hard disk imaging software
  • Experience with Remote control support tools
  • Familiar with completing tasks in Active Directory
  • Accurately record, update and document Incidents / Requests using the ITD Helpdesk ticketing system
  • Ensure work is carried out within agreed service levels and in accordance with department guidelines
  • A valid driver’s license is required for on-site system pickup and deliveries
  • Experience in providing superior customer service
Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • MCP/A+ or other relevant certifications
  • Working knowledge of MAC OS operating systems
  • Working knowledge Linux
  • Familiar with Video Conference Software
  • Familiar with Hard Disk Encryption software
