Cytokinetics is a late-stage biopharmaceutical company focused on discovering, developing and commercializing first-in-class muscle activators and next-in-class muscle inhibitors as potential treatments for debilitating diseases in which muscle performance is compromised and/or declining. As a leader in muscle biology and the mechanics of muscle performance, the company is developing small molecule drug candidates specifically engineered to impact muscle function and contractility. We take a purpose-driven approach by leveraging our unique muscle biology expertise to engineer compounds with specific characteristics aimed at treating diseases that impact muscle function, like heart failure, hypertrophic cardiomyopathy, ALS and SMA.

This is a paid internship at our South San Francisco headquarters. The program is for approximately 10-12 weeks beginning in late May/early June.
 
 
Job Description:
 
This position will provide support in the planning and implementation of clinical studies
including, but not limited to coordination of operational activities to ensure compliance with the protocol, Good Clinical Practice (GCP), government regulations, and overall clinical
objectives. Daily activities will vary depending on the phase of the clinical study.
 
Responsibilities include:
 
·      Scheduling internal meetings and meetings with external collaborators
·      Responsible for meeting minutes
·      Reconcile the Trial Master File (TMF) for completeness and accuracy
·      Compile appendices for a Clinical Study Report(s)
·      Support research activities in Clinical Operations for Cardiovascular and Neuromuscular programs
·      Perform other clerical duties, as assigned
 
Requirements:
 
·      Qualifications include: At least 18 years or older and enrolled at an accredited college/university.
·      Effective oral and written communication skills. Able to communicate effectively with members of other departments and with study-site personnel (physicians, study coordinators, nurses, etc.) as needed.
·      Strong problem-solving skills.
·      Proficiency with computer applications such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint and able to learn other applications with appropriate training.
·      Significant attention to detail, time management, and organizational skills.
