Intern – Commercial Supply Chain Intern

Cytokinetics is a late-stage biopharmaceutical company focused on discovering, developing and commercializing first-in-class muscle activators and next-in-class muscle inhibitors as potential treatments for debilitating diseases in which muscle performance is compromised and/or declining. As a leader in muscle biology and the mechanics of muscle performance, the company is developing small molecule drug candidates specifically engineered to impact muscle function and contractility. We take a purpose-driven approach by leveraging our unique muscle biology expertise to engineer compounds with specific characteristics aimed at treating diseases that impact muscle function, like heart failure, hypertrophic cardiomyopathy, ALS and SMA.

This is a paid internship at our Philadelphia site. The program is for approximately 10-12 weeks beginning in late May/early June.

 

 

           Summer Intern will have following responsibilities

 

·      initiate, lead and work with senior members of Commercial Supply Chain team on projects in the area of business process mapping, general supply chain, operational excellence, etc.

·      collaborate with other Cytokinetics colleagues outside of supply chain to develop cross-functional process understanding

·      review progress and present findings on a regular basis

·      create business tools, such as, Performance Dashboards, Process Maps, Value Stream, etc.

·      evaluate and recommend software platforms for business use at Cytokinetics

·      analyze inherent risks in current business and/or manufacturing supply chain process

·      write final report(s) for each assigned projects during Summer Internship

 

·      College student pursuing degree in business or industrial engineering or supply chain

·      Basic fluency in the use computer software and handling of databases; preferable knowledge of business process management software

·      General understanding of manufacturing and supply chain processes

·      Good communication skills; ability to present ideas and discuss results with Executives

·      Working knowledge of Excel and Power point. Experience creating spreadsheets, data sorting & vlookup. Experience creating power point presentations that include charts & graphs.
