Project Director

Job Summary:
The Project Director (PD) manages and supports a wide variety of survey research projects conducted for non-profit, commercial, academic, and government clients. The PD supports implementation and quality control of surveys using phone, web, mail, and mixed mode methods. Duties include oversight and coordination of study specifications to operations; reviewing and formatting questionnaires; testing programs for accuracy, logic, and flow; briefing and monitoring telephone interviewers; monitoring field progress and sample; specifying and checking final deliverables and data files. The PD will communicate with internal and external teams to assure the data and other deliverables meet with the project specs. 
 
Key Responsibilities:
  • Take ownership of projects under their direction
  • Responsible for quality control of projects, including checking survey programs, mailing materials, coding, crosstabs, SPSS files, and all other client deliverables
  • Communicate with Operations teams
  • Maintain project-specific schedules and monitor timelines
  • Document project processes and procedures
  • Review and format questionnaires
  • Monitor fieldwork
  • Produce fieldwork and progress reports and draft basic analysis of trends and outliers
  • Prepare data reports in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Collaborate with the Research Director on client communications
  • Conduct background research
  • Assist with training and mentoring of Associate Project Director
  • Other duties as the needs of the business dictate
 
Position Requirements
  • Undergraduate degree in marketing, social science, business, or equivalent combination of education and work experience
  • Ability to problem solve/critical thinking
  • Professional attitude and strong interpersonal skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft products, particularly Excel and the use of pivot tables
  • Familiarity with SPSS
  • Organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects while preserving attention to detail
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • 1-3 years in Survey Research
 
Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to sit in front of a computer for long hours
