Senior Research Scientist – Signal Processing

The Analytical and Spatial Intelligence Research Team (ASIRT) at Applied Research Associates, Inc. (ARA) is seeking algorithm engineers interested in acquiring, processing, and fusing signals for robotics, localization, and modeling applications. Senior Research Scientist – Signal Processing Position Highlights:
  • Develop and evaluate prototype software to solve multi-disciplinary problems related to robotics, localization, and modeling
  • Process and integrate data from different sources, including unmanned aerial vehicles, ground vehicles, human-wearables, and smart devices

Senior Research Scientist – Signal Processing Required Experience & Skills:
  • Due to the work, you’ll perform and interactions with DoD programs you will need to be a US citizen
  • Masters of Science degree or above in a related discipline (Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, Robotics, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Systems Engineering, etc.) along with 5+ years relevant work in signal processing
  • Strong foundation in software development with experience in MATLAB or Python
  • 2+ years relevant work experience in one of the following areas: mathematics, physics, signal processing, machine learning, computer vision or optimization

Senior Research Scientist – Signal Processing Desirable Experience & Skills:
  • Experience working with IMUs, GPS, visual odometry, INS, ground or aerial vehicles, wearable sensors
  • Experience implementing Kalman Filters, Particle Filters, Markov models, or graph analysis
  • Experience with collaborative software development and version control
  • Experience writing technical proposals
  • Experience working on intelligence and DoD programs
