Market Segment Leader, Clinical Diagnostics

The Clinical Diagnostics market focuses on laboratory medical testing solutions, private or public, to diagnose or detect disease. The Market Segment Leader (MSL) is a highly visible position that will manage the Clinical vertical market segment responsible for developing industry-wide automation applications and solutions. They will be the leader for new Hamilton strategy to empower focused solutions and will design and implement market penetration plans and programs to accomplish business and organizational goals. The Clinical Diagnostics MSL helps to build the sales pipeline by assisting the Field Sales, Automation Consulting Engineers (ACE) and Application Specialists, as a scientific consultant in robotics system opportunities. They will work with key opinion leaders and industry influencers to establish partnerships and represent voice of customer to define current and future opportunities within the Clinical Diagnostics segment. They will help with proposing and developing standard applications and solutions, which will be marketed and sold as assay ready workstations, in addition to working with R D teams to develop, initiate, and launch specific products within the market segment. They will also collect and communicate market research and competitive intelligence within the Clinical Diagnostics segment.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:


  • Leads and facilitates strategy development projects in support of business objectives evaluating growth, profitability, path to market, channel, and partnership strategy and presents recommendations to the Business Development leadership team
Communicates and presents critical data, report summaries, market
analyses, and strategic recommendations to all levels of management

  • Works with regional sales and business development teams to identify customers and deliver revenue commitments
Support Field Sales team as a scientific expert for consultative sales
opportunities
Supporting pre-sales efforts including trade shows, presenting at
scientific meetings, attending sales presentations and meetings,
and working with the post-sales team

Work directly with field-based Automation Consulting Engineers
(ACEs) in the pre-sales phase to develop concepts that satisfy User
Requirement Specifications

  • Develops solutions across divisions to address opportunities identified in the strategic planning and development phases
Prepare market opportunity for a potential assay ready workstation and
"pitch" the importance in prioritizing the development effort

Main conduit in interfacing with Hamilton AG if an assay ready workstation is
developed for the Clinical Diagnostics market to ensure proper roll-out of
that solution into the Hamilton Reno geographic sales territory
  • Creates and communicates a clear vision and strategy that is based on a thorough understanding of the market segment and how Hamilton Robotics can best serve that market

Leverages competitive research and market analysis for assigned market
or region to make recommendations

Accumulates market research information and gathers, compiles, and
analyzes competitor information on an on-going basis, uses this
information to develop strategic marketing and sales plans in the Clinical
Diagnostics Keeps sales force informed of competitive developments and
creates counter strategies and arguments

  • Utilize scientific expertise and knowledge of and experience with Hamilton Liquid Handling Robotics and 3rd party devices to define project concepts and solutions, and to set customer expectations

  • Collaborate with MarCom to develop product messaging and sales collateral for the sales team, website, social media, etc. to enhance and grow the professional presentation and representation of Hamilton's Robotics Solutions for Clinical Diagnostics

Will author, review and edit marketing collateral that is related to the
Clinical Diagnostics segment to ensure professional, well-written,
customer-focused written materials for Hamilton Robotics instruments,
devices, consumables and applications. Examples of written content
includes: brochures, white papers, tech notes, application notes, posters,
etc.


KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES (KSA):


  • Must have strong written and verbal skills and a good working knowledge of computers is required
  • Must be proactive and have good planning, budget, and customer skills, and be able to demonstrate them to an audience
  • Knowledge of many markets as well as the ability to deploy local and/or global processes to attain relative market information
  • Experience facilitating internal and external relationships to manage multiple stakeholders and balancing a large number of tasks / projects
  • The individual must be able to travel internationally and have a valid driver's license in their state of residence



EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION:


  • Minimum 3 years Clinical Diagnostics laboratory experience required
  • Experience taking scientific bench protocols from the bench to the robot strongly required. Strong knowledge of capital equipment preferred
  • Minimum Masters Degree in science in Chemistry or a scientific discipline relevant to the Clinical Diagnostics applications is required, Ph.D. strongly preferred
  • Should have at least 2 years of sales, marketing, or related product management experience, either in a technical capacity such as research and development or applications
  • Project Management experience preferred
  • 2 years of sales experience preferred
