Summer Associate- DG Business Development
General Description
Distributed Generation, a part of EDP Renewables North America, is looking for a Business Development summer associate.
This is a 10+ week paid internship that will start on or around June 06, 2022.
Main accountabilities:
- Conduct research on solar regulations in various states and utility territories to understand new and emerging solar markets
- Work closely with the Origination team to seek out new customers
- Evaluate potential sites for solar development using parcel data, USGS topo maps, Google Earth, and other platforms
- Work in Helioscope or PVSyst to develop initial solar designs
- Assist in the development of a unique financial model for each customer, using state-specific data and inputs
- Utilize Helioscope design and customer electric usage and billing data to develop a savings analysis
- Develop creative slide deck proposals to share with potential customers
- Contribute to responding to Request for Proposals in a timely manner
- Communicate daily with critical internal teams
- Manage time and shifting priorities among active opportunities
Minimum qualifications:
- Excellent quantitative analytical and research skills
- Advanced Excel functionality
- Experience in Helioscope or PVSyst a plus
- Excellent writing and communication skills – you are responsive and work well with others to solve problems
- Understanding of Microsoft products and/or complementing products preferred.
- Competency in Analytical Problem Solving, Strong Communication, Customer/Partner Relationships, and Technology Expertise preferred

Physical Demands & Working Conditions:
- Sitting/Standing/Flexibility: Ability to stand and sit for 8 or more hours when in an office environment
