Market Segment Manager - Sensors

This role is responsible for positioning the Hamilton Process Analytics Division as a value-added solutions provider in our target markets. This includes development and implementation of plans to effectively execute product launches, marketing materials, advertising, and lead generation activities. In parallel, the MSM collects information about the US market and communicates this to the Marketing Manager and product development team at the Hamilton, Bonaduz (BZ) facility. This position additionally manages and supports the application team.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Visit customers and attend tradeshows to establish and maintain knowledge of changes in the marketplace to serve sales objectives. Maintain knowledge and expertise of the competition, market trends, and new potential market opportunities and threats.
  • Participate in planning and strategy meetings as the US voice for sales and the customer
  • Identify new opportunities with sales in the market to increase sales volume and communicate this to the Marketing Manager and the BZ team
  • Guide and partner with Marketing Content Manager (MCM) and Product Managers to improve lead generation through marketing activities including:Tradeshows
  • Creation and dissemination of new marketing materials
  • Advertising strategy
  • Digital techniques (e.g. adwords, SEO, social media)
  • Write and distribute press releases and press kits for new and re-released products
  • Optimize how products are presented on our website for maximum impact
  • Coordinate and select trade shows to maximize impact and lead generation including working with the MCM on advertising, booth design and materials, etc.
  • Manage applications team including support of their development, content creation, and continuous improvement of the demo process
  • Position Hamilton as a thought leader through content creation and dissemination
  • Occasionally lead projects such as planning and coordinating meetings
  • Function as a project manager for selected new development projects important to the US market
  • Support creation of newsletters and blog posts for dissemination of new information to the sales team and customer base
  • Support Inside Sales in management of leads and workflows in HubSpot for targeted marketing automation
  • Update and edit current catalogs and literature as needed

EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION:

  • Previous technical support, marketing or sales experience preferably in a company with similar products and markets.
  • Familiar with products, standard concepts, practices, and procedures in the analytical sensors markets.
  • Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline such as biology, chemistry, or engineering. A sales or marketing background is considered a plus. Advanced degree considered a plus.
  • Understanding of the biotechnology market with an understanding of the techniques and equipment used, as well as an understanding of market trends
  • Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to travel at least 25% of the time with no restrictions
