Cyber Operations Staff Support

Our team is looking for a confident multitasker to assist government project leaders in defining, tracking, coordinating, and executing staff actions in support of joint non-kinetic effects modeling and simulation (M&S) tool development.

As a valued team contributor, you will leverage your staffing skills and knowledge of agile software development practices to create professional staff products for Service, multi-Service, and/or joint staff consumers. The successful applicant will have experience with offensive and defensive non-kinetic operations, including cyber and electronic warfare (EW).

This role’s primary effort involves aiding government project leads in eliciting, defining, refining, and tracking a spectrum of software development efforts. The candidate shall assist and produce staff actions to help ensure developed tools meet Service and joint level needs for assessing the effectiveness of offensive/defensive cyber operations. Familiarity with the agile software development process is required to assist in organizing, reporting, and interacting with government/industry personnel executing cyber M&S tool development.

  • You will use your staffing and communication skills to create quality products (e.g., briefings, bullet background papers, etc.) supporting the advancement of cyber M&S tool development
  • You will use your organizational, staffing, and communication skills to coordinate, support, and participate in meetings, conferences, and working groups at multiple levels, both in-person and virtually
  • You will use your knowledge of Agile Software Development processes to assist in tracking and communicating the status of tool development
  • You will leverage your cyber operations expertise to document and record requirements and work with technical staff to translate those requirements into actionable software development tasks
  • You will work closely with a collaborative team at multiple levels (government/industry, internal/external, multiple Services, and joint organizations); team-player and excellent written/oral communication skills will be essential to success

Cyber Operations Staff Support Required Experience & Skills:
  • Must currently hold an active TS/SCI Security Clearance
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher along with 7-9 years of relevant experience OR 13-15 years of experience in lieu of a degree
  • Experience on a major command, Service- or joint-level staff within the past 5 years
  • Experience working within an agile software development framework
  • Familiarity with offensive and/or defensive cyber operations
  • Ability to translate requirements into specific offensive or defensive cyber M&S tool requirements
  • Experience using Atlassian Jira and Confluence tools
  • Adept with Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Project
