Lab Aide (Work Study)

The Talbot lab in the Basic Sciences Division is looking for a Lab Aide (Work-Study) who is reliable, organized, detail-oriented individual, to support ongoing exciting research on neuroimmunology and infectious diseases. This is ideal for an individual who is interested in an entry-level introduction to a research lab environment and has an interest in molecular biology, immunology, neuroscience and nutrition. It is also well-suited to individuals who are interested in returning to the bench after a hiatus and are looking for a steady part-time role.
 
The candidate should be able to work between 10-15 hours per week; flexible hours within reason can be chosen after the initial training period. Longer engagement with greater involvement with the Lab also possible.



Responsibilities

Under close supervision of research technicians and the PI, our Lab Aide will:
  • Prepares media and reagents, such as stock solutions, and aliquot reagentes
  • Assists with routine research tasks
  • Maintains a clean and orderly laboratory area



Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Completion of a high school diploma or equivalent and with completion of college-level coursework in biology
  • Current enrollment in an undergraduate degree
  • Work study eligible only
