NextEra Energy, Inc. (NYSE: NEE) is a leading clean energy company headquartered in Juno Beach, Florida. Florida Power & Light Company, which serves more than five million customer accounts in Florida and is the largest rate-regulated electric utility in the United States.
 
Florida Power & Light Company is seeking an Associate Arborist to join their team on the West coast of Florida. 
 
This position will support both Transmission and Distribution vegetation management operations driving reliability improvements, increased customer experience and satisfaction, and certainty in work execution within established guidelines and budgets. Individual ensures compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations and interacts with all company departments to attain overall corporate goals and objectives. The following degree disciplines will be considered: Forestry (preferred), Environmental Science, Ecology, Geology, and other Environmental Sciences.

Job Duties & Responsibilities

  • Coordinates and inspects line clearing contractor activities for maintenance, restoration, outside requests and new construction activities
  • Prioritizes work to ensure most critical work is performed
  • Resolves customer complaints and inquires promptly
  • Evaluates and ensures vegetation management Right of Way (ROW) best practices
  • Ensures contractor compliance with purchase order and contracts
  • Coordinates daily field operations within vegetation management and operation departments
  • Conducts educational programs for internal and external customers
  • Creates and evaluates bids for line clearing, mowing and spray work
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

  • High School Grad / GED
  • Bachelor's or Equivalent Experience
  • Experience: 0+ years
  • Valid Driver's License (NON CDL)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • ISA Certified Arborist
