Our staff consists of women and men who are leading the conservation community on multiple fronts and who expertly bring strategy and action together.
 
The Adirondack Forest Pest Research Assistant will help address the threat of invasive species on the resiliency of Adirondack forests. The Research Assistant conducts invasive species monitoring, collects and analyzes data, provides education about invasive species, and may help manage invasive species throughout the Adirondack region of upstate New York.
 
This is a twenty two-week, full-time position for the 2022. The start date is on or about May 16, 2022.
 
The minimum qualifications including the following background and track record:
·       High school diploma or GED and at least one year of education or experience in land management or a science-related field.
·       Experience gathering scientific data, using mobile monitoring tools, and GPS.
·       Experience identifying Adirondack tree species and other plant and animal species common to Adirondack forests.
·       Experience working independently alone for long hours in the field.
·       Experience communicating verbally and in written form with a wide variety of people.                   
·       Valid drivers’ license.
·       Multi-lingual skills and multi-cultural or cross-cultural experience appreciated.
