The Intern, Finance Position
Sunnova Energy is searching for an Intern of Finance that will expose the candidate to essential corporate finance functions, including capital markets, corporate development, financial planning and analysis, investor relations, and treasury. This program will commence with a financial modeling course in Excel that covers fundamentals and best practices. Upon satisfactory completion, the candidate will work with their dedicated mentor to design an independent project to be completed by the conclusion of the internship. This program is designed to identify candidates suited to full-time roles in Sunnova’s 2 to 3-year Financial Analyst program following their graduation.
Sunnova provides its Interns of Finance:
Exposure to a unique, broad variety of internal and external finance workstreams
Access to training that supports knowledge and skill development
A dedicated mentor to ensure engagement and accelerate education
Participation in real projects alongside junior and senior finance team members
Intern, Finance Responsibilities
· Gains experience supporting financial analysis and modeling in Excel
· Assists with due diligence activities for live capital markets transactions
· Assists with reports and PowerPoint presentations
· Interacts with management across the organization
Works closely with Sunnova’s senior management, and investment banks, investors, rating agencies, prospective investors, and lenders
Gains exposure to frequent treasury and capital market transactions
Provides analysis for strategic mergers and acquisitions, and of related markets
Maintains financial modeling of reports, investor relations, and financial planning
Produces ad-hoc analysis as requested by the CEO and CFO
Minimum Requirements
Within 12 months of graduating from pursuing an undergraduate degree;
minimum 3.0 GPA
Strong academic performance in business administration, economics, finance, mathematics, political economy, or related disciplines
Preferred Qualifications
Relevant experience in banking or in a finance, academic or professional role
Knowledge of accounting and impact of transactions on financial statements
Proficient using business integrated systems such as Microsoft Office Word and PowerPoint; highly proficient using Excel

· The ideal candidate has a positive attitude and desires to accelerate their career in finance, is detail-oriented, has excellent analytical thinking and communication skills, the ability to manage multiple workstreams, and an appetite and aptitude for complex financial-engineering.
Ability to research, identify and solve problems independently or with minimal assistance
Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to interact professionally with executive management, colleagues, and external stakeholders clearly and concisely
Comfortable with ambiguity; ability to work well under pressure and within short time constraints of a complex, integrated business environment
Efficient time-management, self-discipline, and ability to prioritize are essential
Work effectively as a team player; flexible in developing and adapting new processes
Working Conditions
