Manager, Shipping and Receiving
Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory is looking for a Manager for the Shipping and Receiving department. The Manager of Shipping and Receiving will plan for the overall functions of the Laboratory’s Shipping & Receiving / Material Management, Warehouse and Fulfillment operations. This role is responsible for formulating policies, processes and procedures, and managing daily operations.
Duties and Responsibilities:
-Oversees incoming and outgoing package delivery, mail room, warehouse, order fulfillment and material management operations, and the Laboratory’s records retention operation.
-Ensure quality control measures are adopted and followed.
-Manage the department staff, preparing work schedules, and assigning duties.
-Maintaining records of all materials received and shipped in the department.
Position RequirementsEducation: Bachelor’s degree preferred
Experience: 5 years in a leadership role in a distribution center or similar
Other: Valid Drivers License
Knowledge/Skills: Excellent communicator and leadership skills. Ability to thrive in a fact paced environment, certified material handling equipment operator, experienced material handler, including hazardous material, expert in warehouse & mail room operations, automated material handling equipment, bar code scanners, Microsoft office, SCLogic software.
