Water Resources Engineer I
FTN has an immediate opening to work in our award-winning and highly-ranked Water Resources Team. We are seeking an entry level Water Resources Engineer for performing hydrologic and hydraulic numerical modeling. The position will be located in our Fayetteville or Little Rock, AR offices.
The best fit candidate will have the following:
- Bachelor or Master’s Degree in Engineering (Civil preferred) from an ABET accredited four-year college or university, with a specialty in in water resources and course work in hydrologic and hydraulic numerical modeling
- Registration as an Engineer Intern (or the ability to obtain it within two years). (FTN pays for the professional registrations that we want you to have.)
- Experience 0 to 3 years
- Must have experience with ArcGIS, HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS, CAD software
- Experience with FEMA products (e.g., Flood Insurance Studies, Base Level Engineering (BLE), CLOMRs/LOMRs, No-Rise Analyses) and engineering design are not required but are desirable
- Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record
Below are some of the typical duties of this position:
- Performing water resources mathematical modeling using models such as HEC‑RAS, HEC‑HMS, HEC‑GeoRAS, HEC‑GeoHMS, SWMM and other hydrologic, hydraulic, hydrodynamic, and water quality models.
- Working with ArcGIS to develop geometry for model input, display model output, and populate databases.
- Data collection, data analysis, modeling, and document preparation.
- Field investigations/field sampling/reconnaissance.
