Lighting Student Assistant - Available for Work Study and Non-Work Study Students

JOB SUMMARY: Act as a lighting production assistant for Texas Performing Arts performance venues and shop areas by assisting staff in support of lighting work.

Estimated Hours per Week: 10-15

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
·     Assist Texas Performing Arts lighting area in support of lighting for productions in McCullough Theatre, Bass Concert Hall, and theatres within the Winship building.
·     Work with others in the lighting department to prepare and restore equipment and materials for use in theaters.
·     Collaborate with lighting staff and student workers to repair and maintain work lights, house lights, and other task lighting.
·     Represent Texas Performing Arts with a pleasant and professional demeanor through all interactions.
·     Arrive on time for work and maintain a reliable attendance record.
·     Dress appropriately for climbing ladders and for work in dusty areas.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
·     Prompt attendance as scheduled is absolutely mandatory.
·     Interest and willingness to learn new skills and ask specific questions.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
·     Experience in electronics, stage lighting, or audio.
