Are you looking for an opportunity to develop the marketing and outreach strategy for a team dedicated to making the world safer and more sustainable? DNV – Energy Systems group is seeking a Marketing Strategy Specialist to join our Phoenix, AZ team. At DNV, we strive to make a difference every single day. Our Phoenix office helps Arizona’s businesses and multifamily communities understand their energy use and utilize more clean energy. The successful candidate for this position will be responsible for coordinating with our internal team and utility client to create a successful marketing and outreach strategies, tactics and plans, while being adept at long-term strategy planning and execution. In addition, this role will lead the development of all public-facing marketing materials, training/event materials, and email campaigns. The ideal candidate will possess demonstrated excellence in writing/editing, graphic design, visual communication and a strong command of marketing concepts. This role requires a strong writer/editor who can write in varying tones, voices and styles, and craft engaging messages for the right audience at the right time in a fast-paced environment.
 
This position is based in our LEED-certified Phoenix, AZ office (relocation allowance is available).
 
 
What You’ll Do
  • Develop, execute and track effective portfolio-wide marketing strategies, plans, campaigns, and tactics to promote energy efficiency among targeted customer segments and help achieve client goals.
  • Write and edit marketing and outreach materials to the extent needed to produce client-ready drafts and final deliverables. This process could include everything from developing new content to substantially rewriting new content following our utility client branding style guidelines.
  • Take technically complex concepts and write about them in layperson’s terms.
  • Create graphics and designs that transform concepts into published deliverables, such as brochures, banners, web content as part of a campaign strategy.
  • Liaise between local DNV team and client’s corporate communications team, with knowledge and confidence to provide strategic guidance.
  • Develop & coordinate in-person, on-site outreach events to support market engagement and education. Support logistics for in-person, onsite conferences, events and presentations.
  • Track and analyze campaign development and marketplace conditions, and manage communication to broader team via key strategy team documents.
  • Responsible for client material approvals. Work with client, leadership and third-party stakeholders to evaluate materials against approved style guide and campaign strategy.
  • Manage and prioritize files and distribute them as needed efficiently, promptly, and accurately.
  • Build and maintain marketing and outreach deliverables library.
  • Work closely with client and leadership to ensure strategy deliverables are on schedule. Proactively take measures to stay ahead of schedule. Raise concerns promptly.
  • Work with local organizations and industry associations to maximize marketing opportunities.

Position Qualifications

What is Required
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Marketing, Writing, Journalism, or related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in similar marketing or journalism positions, with significant professional experience developing and executing successful marketing campaigns, and writing and editing marketing content.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills; a relentless proofreader!
  • Experience designing, writing/editing, developing, maintaining, and producing internal and external marketing materials such as newsletters, brochures, reports and presentations.
  • Advanced experience with Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, InDesign), Word and PowerPoint.
  • Knowledge of and experience with writing stylebooks, including AP.
  • Experience managing multiple, shifting priorities and deadlines during daily/weekly task loads.
  • Working knowledge of Constant Contact, EventBrite and Google Analytics (or similar).
  • Proven experience planning and meeting multiple deadlines in fast-paced environment.
  • An updated portfolio of related sample work.
  • We conduct pre-employment drug and background screening.
 
What is Preferred 
  • Experience working with or for ad agencies or similar organization
  • Knowledge of utility and/or energy efficiency programs
  • Experience in a consulting environment
