HitS Platform Scientist III

Overview

DEL (DNA-encoded library) is a rapidly growing drug discovery platform at HitS Business Unit in WuXi AppTec. This cutting-edge multidisciplinary platform combines the latest technologies in chemistry, chemical biology, biology and informatics. We are seeking for highly motivated, enthusiastic, multidisciplinary scientists to join this platform. The candidate will collaborate closely with other functional teams in planning, executing and delivering high quality DEL screening projects to the client.

Responsibilities

  • DEL screen and sample processing;
  • DEL data analysis and project reporting;
  • Screen method and assay development;
  • Responsible for client DEL screening projects, project troubleshooting, data analysis and report delivery;
  • Participate in regular internal technical meetings as well as client communication;
  • Responsible for internal DEL research and development to improve the screening platform;

Qualifications

Experience / Education
  • PhD preferably with minimum 1 year of industry-related research experience in biochemistry, molecular biology, biotechnology or related disciplines. Additional experience in chemistry, bioinformatics, cheminformatics, and biophysics is a plus.
 
Knowledge / Skills / Abilities:
  • In depth knowledge of and hands-on experience in at least one of the following fields:
  1. Affinity-based selection methods; (DEL, phage display, SELEX)
  2. Molecular biology (qPCR, PCR, DNA electrophoresis, etc.)
  3. In vitro bioassay (HTRF, SPR, etc.)
  4. Bioinformatics/Cheminformatics;
 
  • Ability to work independently in a multidisciplinary team;
  • Excellent critical thinking and problem solving skills;
  • Excellent literature mining and analysis;
  • Ability to effectively multi-task on a team in a fast-paced environment
  • Meet timelines for client samples and projects within realistic expectations.
  • Decent presentation, scientific/technical writing and communication skills.
 
Physical Requirements:          
  • Ability to stand /Sit/walk for long periods of time;
  • Ability to travel via plane or train.
