Research Associate - Antibody Sciences

We are the leading provider of therapeutic antibody discovery and engineering technologies. This includes naïve discovery from synthetic libraries in yeast or B cells (mice and humans), antibody engineering and optimization, multi-specific antibody engineering, and a portfolio of proprietary CD3 antibodies licensed non-exclusively for bispecific applications. We focus solely on our partners and not on developing an internal product pipeline. Since 2009, we have partnered with 95 pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies, generating 425 therapeutic programs, over 50 clinical programs, and its first approved product. Our technology has been transferred and implemented at Biogen, GSK, Lilly, Merck, Novo Nordisk, and Takeda. Funded discovery partners include leading pharmaceutical companies, such as Boehringer Ingelheim, Bristol Myers Squibb, Novartis, Regeneron, Sanofi, Takeda and others. Adimab has also partnered with many early-stage venture-backed companies, including Amagma, Cygnal, Dragonfly, iOmx, NextPoint, Pliant, Tizona, TRex Bio and others, as well as mid-size public biopharmaceutical companies such as Acceleron, Alector, Cullinan Oncology, Innovent, Jounce, Mersana, Scholar Rock, Surface Oncology and others.

Our integrated antibody discovery and engineering platform provides unprecedented speed from antigen to purified, full-length human IgGs. We offer fundamental advantages by delivering diverse panels of therapeutically relevant antibodies that meet the most demanding standards for affinity, epitope coverage, species cross-reactivity, and developability. We enable our partners to rapidly expand their biologics pipelines through a broad spectrum of technology access arrangements.

Role
We are seeking an experienced Research Associate to join our Antibody Sciences Team. The Research Associate will work in a small team to isolate and characterize antiviral antibodies from primary human B cells for research studies and therapeutic development. The Research Associate will also work on technology development projects to improve Adimab’s antibody discovery pipeline.

Responsibilities
  • Basic handling and culture of yeast and mammalian cells
  • Primary B cell isolation using fluorescence activated cell sorting (FACS)
  • Single-cell RT-PCR
  • Quantification of antibody responses via ELISA
  • Construction and selection of yeast antibody libraries
  • Mammalian cell-based characterization assays
  • Collection, organization, analysis, and presentation of data
  • Tracking and upkeep of lab reagents and stocks
  • Facilitate collaborations with internal and external colleagues

Needed upon hire
  • B.S. or M.S. in molecular biology, biological engineering, cellular biology, or a closely related field with 1+ year(s) experience in an academic or industry setting
  • Demonstrated experience with basic laboratory techniques including PCR, molecular cloning, stoichiometric calculations, and sterile sample handling
  • Demonstrated ability to evaluate, interpret, and present scientific data with a mastery of Microsoft Excel and Powerpoint
  • Familiarity with the basic concepts of immunology and antibody responses
  • Previous experience with standard immunological assays (e.g. ELISA, flow cytometry), single-cell RT-PCR, and viral neutralization assays is not necessary but would distinguish a highly qualified candidate
  • Excellent organization skills and attention to detail
  • Highly motivated with the ability to work independently at the lab bench
  • Adaptable and productive in a fast-paced environment
  • Effective communication skills with the ability to speak openly with colleagues and supervisors
