IT Infrastructure & Security Program Management Intern

Scope of Project:
Support program governance continuous efforts in rolling out additional capabilities in CIS for our new Enterprise PPM tool (Planview). This would include understanding key requirements from the team, build out of project charter, and execution of improvements including - report writing, dashboard development, process improvement (PPI), and weekly presentations to key CIS leadership partners.
Day in life
- Working onsite in Frederick with combination of individual assignments, influencing team members, leading meetings, and presenting to key CIS personnel
- Ensuring work deadlines and targets are met by actively handling tasks on a day to day basis through appropriate resource, issue, and risk management
- Help track accomplishments and return of value, (productivity/hours saved, risk reduction, regulatory compliance, etc.
- Lead regular presentations to program manager on success of tasks and initiatives, as well as call out, explain, and offer solutions when risks/issues to projects are causing failure or inability to complete on time or budget.
Goals
- Demonstrate ability to lead assigned efforts through individual initiative, ability to influence others, and resourcefulness
- Ability to effective communicate status of initiatives to leadership via formal presentation, electronic updates, and dashboards
- Identify and track KPI (Key performance indicators) for identified program improvements
Required skills
  • Basic/Intermediate Project Management knowledge
  • Strong communication & problem-solving skills
  • Basic Financial skills
  • Business, Project Management, Computer science or computer security related undergraduate degree
  • Any level of undergraduate or graduate degree experience
