Business Analyst Intern – IT

Summary of Internship
The IT Business Analyst intern position provides an opportunity for hands-on experience on New Product Introduction projects and/or Operation/Manufacturing projects for Genetic Sciences business within ThermoFisher Scientific. This internship will provide the opportunity to learn about Business Applications (ERP/MES) and Project Management. The opportunity will allow you to sharpen your communication and problem-solving skills in a business environment.
We expect you to be motivated and proactive. You will work closely with team members, actively participate in discussions, decisions and all project activity. You will work as part of a team.

 The position starts in June, paid working 40 hours per week through August.

Essential Functions
  • Supporting Requirements gathering, Design and Development of the projects by collaborating with business users and IT development team
  • Be involved in system defects/issues solving problems from project testing cycles and/or post-production support
  • Supporting communication/training to business users of the projects
  • Supporting data analysis for business by using tools like Power BI, SQL or Business Object.
  • Assisting with documentation and other project work.
  • Accepting candid feedback and look for areas of improvements
  • A Business Analyst intern works under the close supervision of IT Program Managers
Skills and Abilities
  • Ability to work independently and as a member of a multi-functional team
  • Ability to learn, be mentored, and improve
  • Desire to step out of comfort zone and tackle something new
  • Exceptional customer focus
  • Familiarity with Microsoft office products – MS Project, PowerPoint, Excel, Word
Qualifications
  • Computer Science, Business Management, Business Administration Information Systems (or a related field)
  • SQL experience is a plus
  • Previous internship is a plus
