Lab Technician II, In Process Testing
Summary:
Job duties for a Laboratory Technician II include, but are not limited to assay and method development and transfer, in-process testing, and performing a range of additional varied work activities including:
Essential Position Responsibilities:
- Tissue culture and maintenance of microbial and mammalian cell lines
- Write and review R&D and PD protocols, PDTRs, methods, SOPs, analyze results, and draft reports in support of R&D and PD processes.
- Leading in the development of novel in vitro assays
- Performing and leading analysis of data, assay, media, culture, and products
- Hands-on lab work associated with adherent or suspension cell culture, medium/buffer preparation, and cleaning/decontaminating of equipment in a safe and organized manner
- Play a significant role in research, product, and method development for both current and novel products
- Perform work in a BSL-1, -2, or -3 environment
- Organize and manage laboratory inventory including procurement of supplies and materials needed for protocol execution
- Lead product testing in support of PD and R&D
- Serve as a Lead for various projects
- Lead training of Quality Control personnel prior to and during assay transfer
- Maintain PD inventory supply and ordering
- Continue to the support, optimization, and improvements of GMP products
- Work as a team with QC, manufacturing, QA, and other departments as needed
- Contribute to the maintenance of laboratory equipment and laboratory support operations
- All other tasks as needed or assigned by supervisor
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
- AS degree in molecular biology, biochemistry, chemistry, or related field with 4 years of industry experience, or a BS in a related filed with 2 years of industry experience
- 0-2 year of experience in process development, assay development, or manufacturing of biologics
- 0-2 years of cell culture experience, using aseptic techniques
- At least 2 years of experience performing and developing analytical assays, such as ddPCR, ELISA, AUC, HPLC, TCID50, IU titer or similar experience preferred
- Strong leadership, technical, communication, and organization skills in a teamwork environment
- Strong verbal/written and interpersonal communication skills as a team player and willing to work in an environment where individual initiative, collaboration, and accountability are valued
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision in an organized manner
