Postdoctoral Associate - Immunology and Microbiology

POSITION TITLE: Postdoctoral Associate
 
POSITION SUMMARY:
We are seeking a talented self-driven Postdoctoral Associate with strong expertise in molecular biology, immunology, virology and biochemistry. The successful candidate is expected to perform a variety of scientific tasks directed at HIV vaccine development including the following

  • Recombinant DNA technology; mutagenesis; cell culture
  • Recombinant glycoprotein and antibody production
  • Evaluation of vaccine candidates in various animal models
  • Set up and operate standard lab equipment of moderate complexity
  • Record data providing basic analyses and interpretations
  • Perform other related duties, tasks and responsibilities as required

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Requires a Ph.D. in a relevant scientific discipline.  A pending doctoral degree may be considered with approval of the Principal Investigator.
  • Candidates with less than 2-year post doc experience are preferable.
  • Prior experience in an HIV vaccine lab or immunology lab preferred.
  • Experience in animal studies, flow cytometry/cell sorting and cloning
  • Able to communicate effectively, collaborate proficiently, attention to detail, self motivated, research, design and team player preferred

This position works in a laboratory or vivarium environment. Further details of the physical requirements of established essential functions for this position will be addressed/discussed during the interview process.
