POSITION TITLE: Postdoctoral Associate
POSITION SUMMARY:
A Postdoctoral Associate position is available immediately at Scripps Research in the Zwick lab to do interdisciplinary research in HIV vaccine design.The successful candidate will contribute to the design of HIV vaccine candidates based on the envelope glycoprotein trimeric spike, identification of broadly neutralizing antibodies (bnAbs) from HIV-seropositive humans, and assessment vaccine-induced bnAb responses in animal models. The candidate will be required to learn quickly and apply cutting-edge technologies to address critical problems in HIV vaccine design. Candidate must be self-motivated, able to manage deadlines and solve problems. Excellent communication skills are essential. Candidate must work well independently and as part of a team. There will be opportunities to interact with experts in immunology, virology, bioinformatics, clinical researchers, and structural biologists. RESPONSIBILITES:
-Design Env vaccines to drive HIV bnAb responses in animal models
-mRNA-LNP vaccine development
-Single cell and NGS analyses of HIV bnAb lineages elicited in humans and animals
-Antibody cloning and analysis by various immunoassays
-structure-function studies of antibody interactions with HIV Env
-contribute to manuscript writing
REQUIREMENTS:
Must possess a doctoral degree. A pending doctoral degree may be considered with approval of the Principal Investigator.
