ACCOUNTING INTERNSHIP

The Accounting Intern Position   
Sunnova Energy is currently searching for Accounting Intern to be responsible for the Renewal Energy Credit checks (REC), rebate checks from various utilities, subordination checks, and other miscellaneous accounting activities during the summer. They will be responsible to improve the paper check process including automating where applicable and switching from paper to ACH or some other electronic payment method. They will also be responsible to decrease Reporting to Staff Accountant, this position will require weekly and monthly tasks, account analysis, and other key areas of general accounting.
 
          
Accounting Responsibilities
·        Perform analysis of REC, rebates, and subordination checks
·        Ensure all checks are deposited on a timely and accurate basis
·        Ensure all rebates and subordination checks include the proper system itemization back up
·        Ensure all rebates and subordination checks are separated based on the system portfolio owner and check log prepared based on the same ownership
·        Ensure proper internal controls and segregation of duties are met in each step of the process
·        Other duties as necessary
 
FLSA Status: non-exempt
 
Reports to: Senior Accountant or Accounting Manager 
 
Minimum Requirements
·        A pending accounting concentration is required
 
Preferred Qualifications
·        Experience in renewable energy space is a plus
·        Experience with Salesforce and FinancialForce is a plus

·        Impeccable integrity: words and actions must continually reinforce this characteristic
·        A team player who has a successful track record meeting deadlines, increasing efficiency and issue spotting and resolution
·        Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel
