Overview
Under the general supervision of the Director of Comparative Medicine, the Senior Research Technologist is a part of a multidisciplinary research team composed of veterinarians, staff scientists, research associates, and veterinary and research technicians. Research programs are broad in scope, and may include animal model development and characterization studies as well as pre-IND pharmacology, efficacy and/or toxicology studies. Research disciplines include infectious disease, physiology/pharmacology, and rare disease/gene therapy.
The Senior Research Technologist is responsible for coordinating the technical conduct of such studies, integrating expertise of multiple research teams and Lovelace. The ideal candidate will work well in a fast-paced and team-oriented environment. General knowledge and experience in preclinical research is highly desirable; strong communication and organizational skills are essential, as is a high aptitude and desire for learning new research skills and techniques.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in a related scientific discipline and 4 years of directly-related research experience; or an equivalent combination of education, training and/or experience from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been attained.
Preferred/Additional Qualifications
ALAT, LAT, and/or LATg certification is desirable, but not required. Candidates with previous technical experience and demonstrated proficiency working with various laboratory animal species is preferred.

Salary
Salary is commensurate with experience.
