Engineering Summer Co-op Supply Chain (174888BR)

The Distribution Engineering Co-op position provides an opportunity for engineering students who are currently pursuing an industrial engineering degree to get hands on experience working with engineers in a fast-paced environment. The Distribution Engineering Co-op will be a contributing member of the team.

Rotational Breakdown:
• Up to 50% travel each rotation
• Will include a combination of labor management projects, distribution engineering projects, and training exercises
Example Projects:
• Time studies
• Labor management standards (MOST)
• Data analysis (Microsoft Excel and Access)
• Continuous improvement projects
• Warehouse simulation projects
• Process design and optimization projects
Training and Skills:
• Learn industry terminology and concepts
• Professionalism
• Complete training to become a certified MOST practitioner
• Presentation skills – present to Regional Operations Managers (ROMs) and Thermo Fisher Scientific management
• Utilize simulation tools to support the cost justification of projects
• Support a variety of industrial engineering activities and may be assigned a variety of engineering tasks throughout the department or across the distribution network
• Provide feedback on specifications and designs
• Accept candid feedback and look for areas of improvements
• Specific tasks will be tailored to the co-op’s experience level and abilities

Qualifications
• Rising Sophomore or Junior currently enrolled in an accredited bachelor’s degree program in industrial engineering
• Ability to travel up to 50% during each rotation to various location in the United States and Canada
• Knowledge of the full Microsoft suite; Excel, Outlook, Work, Access, Power Point
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• High School diploma or GED required
