Distribution Intern – Operations

Summary of Internship
The Distribution Internship position provides an opportunity for supply chain students who are currently pursuing a supply chain operations degree to get hands on experience working within a fast-paced distribution environment. The Distribution intern will contribute to the SUT Distribution operations, to provide process improvements, troubleshooting of inventory management and assistance on projects related to Distribution operations. The position starts in June, paid working 40 hours per week through August. Opportunity exists for this position to continue through the academic year on a part-time basis to allow for class schedules.

Essential Functions
  • Provide support related to distribution processes
  • Collect, analyze, present data to identify area of improvement with distribution processes
  • Create data table that presents capacity of warehouse
  • Create data table that provides team with incoming workload and outgoing workload
  • Generate process flow charts
  • Implement KPIs, metrics and dashboards
  • Accept candid feedback and look for areas of improvements
  • Work closely with ERP and Logistics teams and systems

Skills and Abilities
  • Ability to work independently and as a member of a cross-functional team
  • Willingness to learn, be mentored, and improve
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office such as Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Vizio, Teams, Smart Sheets
  • Exceptional customer focus
  • Strong leadership and team building skills

Qualifications
  • Student currently enrolled in classes leading to an accredited Bachelor’s degree in a related supply chain discipline
  • Strong desire and motivation to develop a career in distribution/supply chain operations
  • Aptitude for responsibilities, accountabilities and ownership
  • Ability to lift 20lbs
