Marketing Planning Summer Intern (175169BR)

Summary of Internship

The Marketing Planning Internship position provides an opportunity for college students who are currently pursuing a marketing or marketing communications degree to get hands on experience working with marketing professionals in a fast-paced environment focused on marketing planning, execution and reporting. The Marketing Planning Intern will contribute to marketing projects, processes and reporting. Start date is May 16, 2022. The position is based in Pittsburgh; remote location in the East Coast will be considered if needed.

Essential Functions

  • Provides marketing support through project management, content gathering, file management and report creation
  • Provides support related to process development or enhancements across marketing planning and execution
  • Support a variety of marketing campaigns or projects
  • May conduct research and competitive analysis and solicit stakeholder input to make recommendations to improve marketing planning practices
  • Learn about marketing planning and digital channel best practices through daily activities
  • Accept constructive feedback and look for areas of improvements
  • Some specific tasks will be tailored to the Intern’s experience level and abilities
  • The Marketing Planning Intern works under the close supervision of Marketing Specialists and Marketing Managers

Skills and Abilities

  • Ability to work independently and as a member of a cross-functional team
  • Willingness to learn, be mentored, and improve
  • Desire to contribute and improve new and existing marketing processes
  • Exceptional customer focus
  • Familiarity with digital marketing channels such as social and display advertising preferred
  • Familiarity with project management software or tools preferred
  • Aptitude for project management
  • Strong communication, organizational and critical thinking skills

Qualifications

  • Student currently enrolled in classes leading to a bachelor’s degree in a marketing or marketing communications related discipline
  • Demonstrated understanding and application of core marketing principles through classes, project work or other internship experience
