Maufacturing Engineering Summer Intern - Operations

Summary of Internship
The Manufacturing Engineering Internship position provides an opportunity for engineering students who are currently pursuing an engineering degree to get hands on experience working with engineers in a fast-paced highly customized manufacturing/production environment. The manufacturing engineering intern will contribute to the bioreactor systems manufacturing assembly and test teams, as well as new product introduced to production, to provide process improvements, troubleshooting of complex systems, and engineering assistance on projects related to bioreactors systems operation and design. The position starts in June, paid working 40 hours per week through August. Opportunity exists for this position to continue through the academic year on a part-time basis to allow for class schedules.

Essential Functions
  • Provide engineering support related to manufacturing processes
  • Collect, analyze, present data to identify area of improvement with manufacturing processes
  • Create automated tracker to help provide project status
  • Learn and utilize high precision test and measurement equipment
  • Generate process flow charts
  • Implement KPIs and metrics
  • Accept candid feedback and look for areas of improvements
  • Work closely with ERP system to track and report work order status and labor reporting
Skills and Abilities
  • Ability to work independently and as a member of a cross-functional team
  • Willingness to learn, be mentored, and improve
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office such as Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Vizio, Teams
  • Exceptional customer focus
  • Strong leadership and team building skills

Qualifications
  • Student currently enrolled in classes leading to an accredited Bachelor’s degree in a related engineering, science or life science discipline
  • Strong desire and motivation to develop a career in manufacturing/operations
  • Aptitude for responsibilities, accountabilities and ownership
  • Ability to lift 20lbs
