Join our Information Technology Bureau 

We are seeking a motivated individual who is eager to learn about the various aspects of Information Technology. This is your chance to learn from and work with four sections within the Information Technology Bureau. These sections include Operations and Administration, Application Development, Technology Services and Enterprise Infrastructure. This position is available onsite at our Brooksville Headquarters. This internship opportunity is not eligible for remote work.

Compensation: $11.58 hourly


Essential Functions

This position will have the opportunity to rotate through the four (4) sections of the Information Technology Bureau as opportunities arise:
  • Operations and Administration
  • Assist with project, budget, cybersecurity, and procurement operations support.
  • Application Development
  • Assist the application development team with coding, testing, data integration throughout the supported application suite.
  • Technology Services
  • Assist with computer, monitor, and tablet deployments, software installs, troubleshooting desktop computing issues, and providing technical support to District staff.
  • Enterprise Infrastructure
  • Assist with installation, maintenance, and support of District infrastructure equipment, troubleshooting issues, working with network staff on user account and access, and researching industry trends. 

Working Conditions

Work will be conducted in an office environment setting and requires the ability to perform continuous repetitive tasks (to include keyboarding) with one or both hands. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. Required Credentials for Information Technology Student Intern Opportunity

  • Be at least part-time and currently enrolled in High school, an accredited college, university, or other recognized educational or vocational program
  • Have at least two (2) years remaining before graduation 
  • Maintain a minimum GPA of 2.5 for undergraduate students or minimum GPA of 3.0 for graduate students

  • Valid driver’s license

  • Computer and mobile device experience
  • Microsoft Office skills
  • Knowledge of hardware and software installation
  • Ability to comprehend technical instructions and provide detailed resolution documentation
  • Ability to work well on a team
  • Ability to take on individual project assignments
  • Preferred Degree Level: Undergraduate 
  • Preferred Major: Information Technology or Related

Additional Details

This position is typically scheduled to work no more than 25 hours per week. Work will be conducted inside of the office for enhanced learning opportunities.
